Kate Hudson and Adam Levine go way back!

The Almost Famous star is set to join Season 27 of The Voice as a battle advisor for the Maroon 5 frontman, and the duo sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, where Hudson revealed, “I’ve known Adam since high school!”

Hudson attended Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, California, while Levine went to Brentwood School nearby in West Los Angeles.

While she seemed playfully unsure when asked if she knew Levine would grow up to be a “rockstar,” Hudson ultimately responded, “Yeah! You know, he loved it. His first band, they were always playing somewhere. It’s amazing to see his success and then to be here doing this with him, it feels very familiar, yet surreal at the same time.”

Meanwhile, Levine wasn’t shocked at Hudson’s natural transition from acting into a music career. “She’s so annoying. She can, like, do everything,” he said.

Trending on Billboard

Hudson released her debut album Glorious last year, and the project reached No. 3 on the Heatseekers albums chart, No. 10 on Top Album Sales, No. 10 on Top Current Album Sales, No. 19 on Vinyl Albums and No. 41 on the Independent Albums chart.

Now that she’s a successful musician in addition to a successful actress, Hudson said that she’s ready to take on the coaches panel on The Voice. “It would be so much fun,” she shared. “I love the competitive nature of it. I was thinking about that with Adam. How fun to compete against other great artists and see what happens.”

Watch the interview with Hudson and Levine below. The Voice airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
