Latin Remix of the Week: RaiNao Revamps ‘CAPICÚ’ Hits for First-Anniversary Celebration
Written by djfrosty on February 28, 2025
In our Latin Remix of the Week series, we spotlight remixes that the Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors deem exceptional and distinct. We might not publish a review every week. This is our selection today.
RaiNao celebrated the first anniversary of her album CAPICÚ by unveiling CAPICÚ (Aniversario) on Monday (Feb. 24) — a special edition that preserves the original 16 tracks on the first disc and introduces three remixes on the disc two. These remixes include “logout de riíto con la gata” (original “logout”) “readysita pal party en casa,” (“readysita”) and “Gualero de jangueo en El Gandúl” (“Gualero REFF12.31”).
Produced by the artist along with Wiso Rivera, the remix of “logout” transforms the track from its original dark, distorted, and glitchy percussive sound into a mambo maniaco-leaning style, making it more jubilant. The “Gualero” remix preserves its Caribbean bolero roots while adding dance and Afrobeat influences, enhancing its rhythmic complexity and appeal. Meanwhile, “readysita,” produced by RaiNao, Wiso Rivera, and also Giova de las Águilas, keeps its electronic foundation but explores new territories with industrial sounds.

RaiNao expressed her excitement during an event at Plaza Antonio R. Barceló in Barrio Obrero, Puerto Rico: ‘I wanted to return to this magical plaza where it all began to celebrate with the hood, with my Puerto Ricans and Dominicans, with our culture, the album’s process and CAPICÚ,” she said in a press release.
RaiNao was named one of Billboard‘s 22 Latin Artists to Watch in 2025.
