Gracie Abrams Cancels Brussels Concert Due to ‘Gnarly’ Illness

Gracie Abrams has canceled her performance in Brussels on doctor’s orders, with the singer revealing that she’s currently fending off a “gnarly” illness that has left her unable to take the stage.

Breaking the news via a handwritten note posted on Instagram Stories Thursday (Feb. 27) — one day before she was slated to take the stage at Forest National — Abrams told her Belgian fans, “First thing I have to say is that I love you with my whole heart, and I have been so looking forward to being together in your beautiful city.”

“My body has been fighting off something gnarly for the past week, and despite doing everything in my power to keep it contained, it has gotten to a point where all medical advice I’ve received says I cannot perform and need to rest,” continued the “That’s So True” musician. “At this point in time I can’t give you the show you deserve and that breaks my heart, especially knowing all the travel and the planning and the care that you put into attending our show.”

Abrams noted that she and her team are “working to figure this out” and promised that more information would be coming “as quickly as possible.” “Our every intention is to make this right and I promise we’ll be in touch as soon as we have concrete details,” she added.

The announcement comes midway through the European leg of the Grammy-nominated artist’s The Secret of Us Tour, which kicked off Feb. 8 in Madrid. Abrams previously spent the fall of 2024 traveling through North America in support of her Secret of Us album, which dropped in June last year and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

Abrams is next slated to perform March 3 in Nottingham, England. After a couple more weeks in Europe, she’ll embark on an Asian leg in April, followed by a run of dates in Australia.

Also in March, the “Close to You” artist will accept Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards. Abrams will also perform at the ceremony, as will fellow honorees aespa, GloRilla, Tyla and more.
