Breakaway, the company behind the touring dance event Breakaway Music Festival, is launching a label and management division focused on emerging artists called Breakaway Projects.

The first wave of signees to the label, which is partnered with The Orchard for distribution, includes a fresh collection of electronic producers such as Surf Mesa, Jaded, Evan Giia, Night Tales, Mojave Grey, Klo and Myles O’Neal. (Some of the label’s artists released music on an earlier edition of the imprint called Breakaway.) Artists signed to the label will also be featured across the company’s portfolio of live events. Breakaway Projects is managing Night Tales, Mojave and Klo.

“Breakaway is more than just a festival; it’s a vibrant community and a celebration of emerging talent,” Breakaway Projects president Jaime Neely tells Billboard. “Launching Breakaway Projects is the natural evolution of that spirit. We’re incredibly excited to expand the Breakaway brand into the label and management space, partnering with the next generation of artists who embody the energy and culture that defines Breakaway. Los Angeles is the perfect creative home to drive artist development, and best service our established acts providing real context through the Breakaway community.”

This year, Breakaway Music Festival is scheduled to happen in 12 cities across the United States, having expanded significantly since its 2016 founding when it launched in Columbus, Ohio. Modeled as a dance and pop-driven Vans Warped Tour, the festival brings an approachable high-end dance experience to historically underserved markets. Each event now spans two days and features multiple stages, with 2025 headliners including Dom Dolla, Alison Wonderland, Tiësto, Afrojack and Sofi Tukker.

The company also hosts various one-off Breakaway Presents events in cities including New York, L.A. and Las Vegas.

“We’re thrilled to pair our robust live platform with The Orchard to discover and develop the next superstars in dance and pop music,” says Breakway’s co-founder/CEO Adam Lynn. “Their global reach and expertise in artist development will help Breakaway reach new heights and elevate the careers of its artists.”
