T-Pain Publishing Catalog & Select Masters to Be Acquired by HarbourView Equity Partners

HarbourView Equity Partners is buying Grammy award-winning rapper-producer T-Pain‘s publishing catalog and certain master recording rights, the company announced on Thursday (Feb. 20).
The Tallahassee, Fla.-born artist known for late-2000s party music hits like “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’),” “Bartender (featuring Akon)” and “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper) (featuring Mike Jones),” has been active since 2004. In a statement, T-Pain said the “catalog represents years of hard work, creativity, and unforgettable moments.”
“I’m grateful to see it continue to reach new heights,” he continued. “I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”

This is the first catalog acquisition plan Harbourview has publicly disclosed since the start of the year. Founder/CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares says her alternative asset management firm deployed around $800 million in deals last year, which helped the Newark, N.J.-based company’s portfolio grow to around 80 catalogs and 30,000 songs. In addition to the T-Pain catalog, HarbourView’s music assets include songs by James Fauntleroy, George Benson, Noel Zancanella, Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Nelly, Jeremih, Wiz Khalifa, Kane Brown and Full Force.
The firm had $1.45 billion in total regulatory assets under management at the end of 2023.

HarbourView’s legal counsel on the transaction was Fox Rothschild. T-Pain was advised by Joey Halbardier of Halbardier A.P.C.
