Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (American Dogwood/EMPIRE/Magnolia Music) continues its record run in the top 10 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, dated Feb. 15. The song adds a 32nd week in the tier, extending the longest top 10 residency since the survey began in January 1990.
The track surpassed Dustin Lynch’s “Thinking ‘Bout You” (featuring MacKenzie Porter), which spent 28 weeks in the Country Airplay top 10, including six at No. 1, starting in October 2021.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” at No. 6 on Country Airplay, drew 20.5 million audience impressions Jan. 31-Feb. 6, according to Luminate. The song, co-authored by the Virginia-born Collins Obinna Chibueze, ruled for seven weeks beginning last August. It bested Carrie Underwood’s“Jesus, Take the Wheel,” which logged six weeks at No. 1 in 2006, as the longest-leading hit to establish a country career (encompassing acts’ first Country Airplay entries as a lead artist or their initial songs promoted to country radio).

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” also became the first song to cross over to the top 10 on Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary and Rhythmic Airplay. It has led the all-genre Radio Songs chart for a record-shattering 27 weeks and counting, breaking out of a tie with The Weekend’s “Blinding Lights.”
Plus, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has topped the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart for 33 weeks through the list dated Feb. 8. It’s the third-longest-leading No. 1 since the chart became the genre’s singular songs survey in 1958. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” led for 34 weeks beginning in February 2017, while Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s“Meant to Be” dominated for 50 weeks starting in December 2017.
