Crowder (full name David Crowder) co-authored the song with Michael Cochren, Ben Glover and Jeff Sojka. The latter two also co-produced it.
Crowder’s newest chart-topper is from his 12-song album The Exile, released last May. The LP arrived at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart with 11,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States. The set awarded Crowder his fourth leader, with his eighth entry. His No. 1 total is rounded out by Milk & Honey, which opened in the penthouse in June 2021; American Prodigal (October 2016); and Neon Steeple (June 2014).
“Somebody Prayed” is the sophomore single from The Exile, following “Grave Robber,” which led Christian AC Airplay and Christian Airplay for two weeks last May, becoming Crowder’s fifth leader on the latter list. He previously topped Christian AC Airplay with “In the House” (for four weeks beginning in February 2022); “Good God Almighty” (five, starting in May 2021); “All My Hope,” featuring Tauren Wells (two, March 2018); and “Come as You Are” (two, March 2015).
Crowder is currently on tour and stops next in Grand Prairie, Texas, for shows on Feb. 7 and 8.
