The Weeknd is giving fans a glimpse of his upcoming psychological thriller film, Hurry Up Tomorrow, by revealing the first-look photos Monday (Feb. 3).
The photos arrive one day after the Canadian-Ethiopian superstar made his triumphant return to the Grammys and performed “Cry for Me” and “Timeless” with Playboi Carti from his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which he dropped on Friday (Jan. 31) via XO and Republic Records.
Directed by Trey Edward Shults, the film Hurry Up Tomorrow follows a musician who’s “plagued by insomnia” and “is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence,” according to the official synopsis. Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan star alongside The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye), who scored the film alongside his frequent collaborator Daniel Lopatin (also known as Oneohtrix Point Never). Lionsgate will distribute the movie in theaters worldwide on May 16.
