Wendy Williams is seeking new legal counsel. She has reportedly fired her lawyer as she continues her fight to be released from guardianship.
Page Six is reporting that the former media personality has made a change with regard to her representation. This week she formally cut ties her court appointed attorney Linda Redlisky. Sources who claim to be close to the matter tell TMZ that Wendy let Redlisky go because she failed to file the proper paperwork asking release from guardianship. Williams apparently wanted a court trial to decide whether or not she needs someone to make decisions on her behalf but Redlisky denied her request.
Earlier this month her family made it clear they are trying their best to restore order in her life. “The family of Wendy Williams wishes to address the current circumstances surrounding her guardianship and her ongoing journey toward reclaiming her self-determination,” the family said in a statement, per Daily Mail. “As we navigate this challenging time, we believe it is crucial to advocate for Wendy’s rights and autonomy.”
They would go on thank her fans for their continued support as they figure out a resolution. “We are hoping that — through the legal system — we can shed light on this situation and work toward a resolution that honors Wendy’s voice and wishes. We ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this complex process, and we thank Wendy’s fans and supporters for their unwavering love and encouragement during this time to “#FREEWENDY.”
Earlier this month Wendy Williams called into The Breakfast Club and revealed that she is totally capable of being self sufficient and that she feels like she is trapped. “My life is f***ed up,” she explained. “I feel like I’m in prison. I’m definitely isolated. I keep the door closed, I watch TV, listen to the radio and look out the window. Sit here as my life goes by.”
