Cazzu’s “Dolce” has topped Billboard’s latest new music Latin poll. In a poll published on Friday (Jan. 24) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin roundup and playlist, curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Argentine artist’s new track as their favorite music release of the week.
An empowering corrido bélico and Cazzu’s first attempt at the música mexicana genre, the song generated over 86% of the vote, beating out other new releases that dropped last week, including J Balvin’s romantic reggaetón track “Rio,” Alejandro Sanz and Grupo Frontera’s “Hoy No Me Siento Bien,” and Aitana’s “Segundo Intento,” to name a few. Danny Ocean’s “Vitamina” finished off in second place, with just over 11% of the vote.

Produced by Argentine hitmaker Nito Cotton, “Dolce” — the second single off of her upcoming studio album set for April — is about a complex relationship characterized by betrayal, backed by pleasing requintos. In the lyrics, the Argentine artist reflects on her emotions, which lead her to seek some sweet revenge: “You forgot that I taught you everything you know,” she fearlessly chants.
The conceptual music video shows Cazzu serenading a man portraying a big, buff devil, while she breaks away from his sinister motives in her own journey to self-love and discovery, all while wearing a killer, red designer dress.
In the prior New Music Latin poll, Gusi and Elder Dayán’s “Acabaste Conmigo” took the crown with nearly 40% of the fan vote. See the final results of last week’s new music Latin poll below:
