The Brit Awards has announced its host for the upcoming 2025 ceremony. Comedian Jack Whitehall will return to the role, having hosted the awards four times previously.

The Brits will be held on March 1 at London’s O2 arena. Nominations are due to be announced in the coming weeks, alongside performers at the event. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ITV 1 and streaming service ITV X.

Whitehall previously hosted the ceremonies in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In 2024, a trio of hosts made up of radio DJs Roman Kemp, Clara Amfo and TV presenter Maya Jama took on the role.

Speaking on the news, Whitehall said: “They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that is absolutely the case with the BRIT Awards — it is my favorite night of the year, and I am delighted to be invited back to host in 2025.”

Whitehall rose to fame in the TV comedy series Fresh Meat in 2011 and went on to create and star in the BBC show Bad Teacher. He has also played a number of large venues – including The O2 arena – during his career as a stand-up.

A number of comedians have taken on the role over the years, including Mo Gilligan and former talk-show host James Corden. Whitehall has courted controversy in the past, and in 2021 was censored by broadcaster ITV when he turned fire on the “corporate w–––ers in the boxes” at The O2 arena.

The red carpet show hosted prior to the event on ITV 2 will be presented by DJ Harriet Rose alongside satirist and comedian Munya Chawawa.

Earlier this week, the lineup for 2025’s Brits Week was announced and included former winners such as Clean Bandit and Kasabian in the slate. The live shows will take place in the U.K. throughout February and March, and raise money for the charity War Child.

In December, Luton-born musician Myles Smith was announced as the recipient of The Brits’ Rising Star award for 2025, which tips rising stars for future success. Smith beat out competition from Elmiene and Good Neighbours to scoop the prize. Previous winners include Adele (2008), Sam Smith (2014) and most recently The Last Dinner Party (2024).
