Duki, who made history as the first urban artist to sell out the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, and who was the first trap star to sell out River Plate in Argentina, is playing smaller venues here, but he’s taking a big step.

“I come from rap, from trap [in Argentina] and the fact that my music plays here, and I’m playing shows here in the U.S. where everything happened and where everything started is a dream come true,” he said.

Duki sat down with Billboard News for a rare interview to talk about his new tour and album, both titled Ameri. The 28-year-old rapper, one of the pioneers of the Argentine urban music movement, self-describes as “shy.” “I let my music do the talking,” he says.

But on stage, Duki — who became known thanks to his prolific freestyling — is another thing.  Although many details about his tour remain under wraps, he did share that overall atmosphere will mimic that of Ameri the album, with emphasis placed on its red-and-black set design.

“Although Ameri is an album, I want you to live it like I did,” he explains. “We want people to go to the arena and feel they’re inside Ameri.”

Among the tracks he’ll be playing, expect the introspective “Barro,” where the rapper opens up about family, love and fears.
