J. Cole Shares 8 Unreleased Songs for 10-Year Anniversary of ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’

Monday (Dec. 9) is the 10th anniversary of J. Cole’s classic 2014 Forest Hills Drive album and he’s playing the role of Santa Claus bearing gifts for fans.

Cole shared eight previously unreleased songs on Monday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The batch of tracks were part of an alternate version of 2014 FHD, which was supposed to be a double album at one point.

“Home Soon,” “Die Together,” “Judgement Day,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Keep Heaven Dancing,” “Miles,” “Black Man in Hollywood” and “Obviously” are available for digital download on Cole’s Inevitable audio series website. There’s also a pair of episodes telling the oral history of the project and Cole’s mindset at that point in his career.

Fans were ecstatic to hear about receiving eight tracks from the vault. “If this deluxe is solid, I’ll rank it above Born Sinner,” one fan responded.

Cole is keeping the party going into next week when he takes over Madison Square Garden on Dec. 16 to perform 2014 Forest Hills Drive with a special one-night-only concert in New York City. Tickets to the anniversary show along with commemorative CDs and vinyl are completely sold out.

Filled with hits like “No Role Modelz,” “Wet Dreamz” and “Love Yourz,” 2014 Forest Hills Drive debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving the Dreamville boss his third chart-topping album with 353,000 total album units earned. The 2014 album was Cole’s only entry on Billboard‘s 100 Greatest Rap Albums List, where it’s slotted at No. 59.
