Undoubtedly the most important date in the U.K.’s live music diary, Glastonbury possesses the ability to keep the musical conversation flowing for months at a time. The legendary festival is set to return to Worthy Farm in Somerset, south west England next summer (June 25-29), following a 2024 lineup stacked with a wealth of the world’s biggest stars: from bill-toppers Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA to groundbreaking performances from the likes of Burna Boy and Janelle Monae.
A wonderland of music and theater, replete with huge headliners, rising stars and fascinating curios aplenty, an invitation to Worthy Farm can significantly elevate an artist’s career. In recent years, the festival has seen major acts such as Ayra Starr, Little Simz and Olivia Rodrigo – who brought out influential British songwriter Lily Allen as a surprise guest during her triumphant set in 2022 – enjoy star-making turns, while newer talent are also afforded the opportunity to stake their claim for greatness on the smaller stages.
There is truth, too, to the old cliché that Glastonbury has something for everybody. In June, SEVENTEEN became the first-ever K-pop act to perform at the festival in its 54-year history. Revered names from the worlds of metal, techno, experimental jazz and beyond converge on the site each summer – proving that there is simply no other event like it.
As the ticket sale for next year approaches, the noise surrounding rumors of who is set to play the festival will only increase tenfold.
Here’s everything we know about Glastonbury 2025 so far.
-
When is Glastonbury Festival 2025?
The festival will take place between June 25-29, with the musical performances commencing on the Thursday evening (June 26). Prior to this, festivalgoers are able to explore the site, secure a camping spot, and enjoy the wealth of activities and art installations Glastonbury has to offer.
Crucially, Glastonbury will take a year off in 2026 to allow the land at Worthy Farm time to recover from the volume of attendees that descends on the grounds during the festival. The site covers around 1,500 acres of land and will be home to around 200,000 people for the week. Away from the event itself, it operates as a working dairy farm throughout the year. The last Glastonbury fallow year took place in 2018.

How can I buy Glastonbury tickets?
The ticket sale is scheduled to take place in two phases. Combined ticket and coach packages go on sale at 6 p.m. (GMT) on Nov. 14, while general admission tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. (GMT) on Nov. 17. Those hoping to attend will have needed to complete a pre-registration form prior to Nov. 11, for which they were required to provide a passport-style photo alongside contact information.

Is there a new ticket sale method?
For the 2025 edition of the festival, there will be changes to the Glastonbury booking process. The introduction of an automatic queue system means that rather than refreshing a holding page, prospective ticket buyers will be assigned a place in the queue once tickets are available. Users who make it to the front of the line will be able to buy a maximum of six tickets at a time.
In the past, buyers have expressed negative experiences with Glastonbury’s previous route of using a random allocation process for tickets. Last year, the festival sold out entirely in 58 minutes.
In its official ticket-buying guide, Glastonbury has stated that people who use multiple devices to access the sale could negatively impact their chances of securing tickets. “Refreshing the page, using multiple tabs or many devices can look like suspicious behavior and can harm your chances of getting through by triggering anti-bot software,” the festival warned.
-
How much do Glastonbury tickets cost?
Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 will cost £373.50 (approximately $481) for a General Admission Full Weekend ticket, plus an additional £5 (about $6) booking fee. This is an increase of around £18.50 ($23.55) on 2024’s price. In order to combat ticket touting, Glastonbury tickets remain strictly non-transferable.

Who is going to headline Glastonbury 2025?
The minute the curtain fell on Glastonbury 2024, rumors began to swirl around potential names for next year’s edition. Festival boss Emily Eavis confirmed as such. Speaking to the Glastonbury Free Press in late June, she said that the festival was “already in talks with acts” for 2025, while hailing Glastonbury as a place where we can all “come together and find our common ground” and added that it “restores your faith in humanity.”
There are a number of acts in contention to headline Glastonbury 2025. Among those names is Newcastle-born musician Sam Fender, who is currently gearing up to release the follow-up to his second LP, Seventeen Going Under, which went to No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart in October 2021.
There is also chatter that recent Billboard cover star Olivia Rodrigo may make her grand return to Worthy Farm. She recentlyconfirmed a date at London’s BST Hyde Park for June 27, and has also rescheduled her ill-fated gigs at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena to June 30 and July 1 – raising the prospect that she could also perform at Glastonbury the weekend prior.
In the mix, too, are global superstars such as Harry Styles (who is slated to be working on his fourth record, following the Billboard 200-topping Harry’s House) and Madonna. The latter was rumored to take the Sunday headline slot in 2024 until negotiations were reportedly canned over a performance fee. Similarly, Rihanna is also said to be in talks to headline – though fans likely won’t see the full lineup until next spring.
Until then, there is only one major name we can be certain of. Despite making their highly anticipated return to the stage next year via a global reunion tour, Oasis have quashed any idea of appearing at Worthy Farm. A recent statement on the Gallagher brothers’ official social media channels read, “Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year. The only way to see the band will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”

Who else will be playing?
While the lineup is traditionally kept under wraps until a few months before the festival, music fans will continue to keep all and any speculation bubbling in the run-up to its announcement.
Following a successful U.K. arena tour in the summer, recent reports have suggested that Glastonbury organizers are looking to book Girls Aloud, following a huge crowd for fellow girl group Sugababes at the 2024 festival. Betting site OddsChecker, meanwhile, has also pointed to Eminem and Fred Again being in the running for Pyramid Stage appearances.

Music fans in the U.K. can watch live Glastonbury coverage via BBC iPlayer, which is available on TVs and smart devices (phones, tablets, laptops), and on streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime and Chromecast. Audio coverage is also available via the BBC Sounds app.
For those looking to tune in from elsewhere across the world, the BBC Music YouTube channel has multiple playlists of key performances from over the years.
