They’re still standing, better than they ever did! Joni Mitchell welcomed her all-star group of friends onstage with her at her Hollywood Bowl “Joni Jam” over the weekend, and the fun continued backstage.
In a clip shared to the “A Case of You” singer’s social media page, the legendary singer-songwriter is seen backstage at her Los Angeles show jamming out alongside Brandi Carlile, Blake Mills, Lucy Dacus, Chappell Roan, Tim Hanseroth, Allison Russell and Elton John as the group perform the Rocket Man’s “I’m Still Standing.”
“Backstage antics at the Hollywood Bowl,” the caption reads. In the clip, the group happily sings along to the 1983 hit, with some performers strumming along on guitars. “Is this the pink pony club,” one comment playfully reads, in reference to one of Roan’s hits, while another user commented, “This is like seeing the avengers join together for the first time.”

Another viral moment from Mitchell’s LA Joni Jam was when a member of the audience shouted out a Trump diss after she performed “Dog Eat Dog.” In response, Mitchell said, “’F–k Donald Trump’ – I love that song,” in reference to YG’s 2016 hip-hop banger “FDT.” While performing “Dog Eat Dog,” a song about people in power who “lie, cheat, skim, scam,” she mentioned the Republican candidate and former president once again when she sang the lyric about “big-wig financiers,” adding to the verse, “Like Donald Trump.”
