The Flaming Lips are calling on fans for help after instrumentalist Steven Drozd’s daughter went missing.
Both Drozd himself and frontman Wayne Coyne took to their social media pages on Monday (Oct. 7) to share a missing person poster of 16-year-old Charlotte “Bowie” Drozd, who has been missing since around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to the posts, Bowie was last seen on the monorail in Seattle, Washington, near the Space Needle.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Seattle Police Department at 206-625-5011 or call Bowie’s mother, Becky.
Most recently, Flaming Lips performed in their Oklahoma City hometown for Summer Freak Out at OKC’s Zoo Amphitheatre in August. The group also recently celebrated their 40th anniversary, as they were formed in 1983 and, as a result, they performed their albums, 2002’s Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and 1999’s The Soft Bulletin, in their entirety.

“I think a big part of why we’re still together and still touring and still doing stuff that people are interested in is because we try to change with the times or change as we go,” Drodz recently told The Oklahoman of their longtime success. “A lot of bands, they make a couple of records, they get stuck in that one sound, and that’s just what they do for the rest of their career, whatever. And that’s fine. But I think that would probably kill us, if we did something like that. Even if it doesn’t seem like we’re going through any big changes, we feel like we’re going through changes. So, that helps us feel new and fresh.”
