Prince‘s legacy continues to live on through his music, and now a new book about the late artist will reassert his icon status through a “significant collection” of photos. Fans may have just celebrated the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain by streaming the album, watching the movie and flipping through the collectible book, but the celebration continues on with the latest book Prince: Icon.
Released on Tuesday (Oct. 1), the photography book doesn’t just focus on one era of the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper’s career, but attempts to create an anthology of photographs spanning his decadeslong career.

“Prince: Icon” by Iconic Images & Steve Parke
Prince: Icon will give you 264 pages of classic and never-before-seen photos of Prince throughout his life. You can expect images taken by images by renowned and little-known photographers from around the world, close friends and colleagues, according to the official description.
Alongside the photos, you’ll be able to read personal essays that reflect on memories of Prince during his “earliest days in Minneapolis to touring the world.”
Iconic Images published and put together the collection to bring together a visual story you can flip through on rainy days and display on your coffee table for guests to admire. In addition to Prince: Icon, the publication has also spotlighted another legendary artist — David Bowie — in a similarly titled music book called Bowie: Icon, which you can buy online for less than $50.
