Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” tallies a 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, extending 2024’s longest command. Notably, it has now reigned for twice as long as any other No. 1 this year, doubling up on Post Malone six-week leader “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which became Shaboozey’s first Hot 100 No. 1 in July, also ties for the third-longest rule this decade.
The track additionally furthers the longest No. 1 run of 2024 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, adding a sweet 16th week in the top spot.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter claims three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 – “Espresso,” “Please Please Please” and “Taste” – for a fifth consecutive week, becoming the first woman in the chart’s 66-year history to link such a streak.
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Oct. 5, 2024) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Oct. 1). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.

Hits With the Most Weeks at No. 1 This Decade
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” also ties for the third-most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the 2020s. Here’s a recap:
16 weeks, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023
15, “As It Was,” Harry Styles, 2022
12 (to date), “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 2024
12, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey, 2020-23 (*14 total weeks at No. 1, including its first two on charts dated in December 2019)
11, “The Box,” Roddy Ricch, 2020
10, “Easy on Me,” Adele, 2021
10, “Butter,” BTS, 2021
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now one of only 24 No. 1s in the Hot 100’s history to run up 12 or more weeks on top – an honor that 2% of all No. 1s have achieved. All 24 hits have led since the chart adopted electronically-monitored Luminate data in November 1991, at which point longer reigns than before subsequently became more common; since then, a still-select 6% of all No. 1s have led for 12 or more weeks.
The Longest Rookie Reigns
Plus, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” became Shaboozey’s first Hot 100 chart entry with no other billed acts. (He first logged two collaborations from Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter in April: “Spaghettii,” also with Linda Martell [No. 31 peak], and “Sweet * Honey * Buckiin’ ” [No. 61].)
Over the Hot 100’s history, only four acts have ruled for 12 or more weeks with a first entry as a sole lead artist (with the three other than Shaboozey having made their respective first appearances at all with the titles below):
Lil Nas X: an overall-record 19 weeks at No. 1 in 2019 with “Old Town Road,” feat. Billy Ray Cyrus
Mark Ronson: 14 weeks, 2015, “Uptown Funk!,” feat. Bruno Mars
Los Del Rio: 14 weeks, 1996, “Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)”
Shaboozey: 12 weeks, 2024, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”
Sabrina Carpenter: 3 in Top 10 for 5th Week
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter boasts three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 for a fifth consecutive week – becoming the first woman in the chart’s 66-year history to establish such a run.
The singer-songwriter’s “Espresso” holds at its No. 3 high, having become her first top 10; “Please Please Please” rises 9-8, after it became her first No. 1 in June; and “Taste” slips 8-9, after it debuted at its No. 2 best.
Thanks to the trio of hits – all from Short n’ Sweet, Carpenter’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 – she becomes the first woman to link as many as five consecutive weeks with at least three simultaneous Hot 100 top 10s. She passes Cardi B, who charted three concurrent top 10s for four weeks in a row in 2018.
