Five-time Country Airplay No. 1 hitmaker Scotty McCreery was one song into his set at the Colorado State Fair at the Big R Arena in Pueblo, Colo., over the weekend when he had to stop his set to have an unruly attendee removed from the crowd.
McCreery was performing “It Matters to Her” when he abruptly paused his show after witnessing a concertgoer reportedly hit a woman in the crowd. McCreery then pointed toward the alleged assailant in the audience, saying, “Hey, hey, hey, right here. That’s a lady you just hit, sir.”
The music remained halted as McCreery pointed out the offending audience member to security staff. McCreery said, “Absolutely not, who just hit the lady? Police, security, is she OK?” He then addressed the person who hit the woman, saying, “Get the heck out of here…On God’s green Earth…at a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing? Y’all let the cop know who hit the lady because that is absolutely unacceptable.”

McCreery waited until the person was escorted from the crowd before the singer-songwriter picked back up with his show.

Earlier this year, the North Carolina-born McCreery released his fifth studio album, Rise and Fall. He recently released a new song from the album, “Fall of Summer,” which McCreery wrote with Brent Anderson, Derek George, Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell.
