With the Democratic National Convention fully underway, more star-studded performers have been added to the lineup at Chicago’s United Center to celebrate Vice President Kamala Harris‘ presidential nomination.
On Wednesday night (Aug. 21), John Legend will take the stage to perform, according to CNN. The “All of Me” singer has been an outspoken supporter of Harris, telling CBS Mornings earlier in the day, “Seeing how smart and charismatic and empathetic and how ready she is for this, she’s prepared herself for this role. She is eminently qualified to be president. And then she also has the right character traits I think to be a great president, which means she cares about people’s lives, wants government to work for people and improve their lives.”
On the DNC‘s closing night on Thursday (Aug. 22), P!nk is scheduled to perform, per the publication. The singer is a powerful advocate for women’s rights, reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ rights.
Harris’ selection for Vice President, Minnesota governor Tim Walz, is scheduled to speak on Wednesday night (Aug. 21), accepting the vice presidential nomination. Additionally, Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and former President Bill Clinton are all additionally set to make remarks.
Harris took over the presidential campaign from President Biden, who spoke on the opening night of the DNC. On Thursday night, when P!nk is scheduled to perform, the attorney-turned-politician will accept the presidential nomination.
The DNC’s main programming will run from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
