‘Hoy’ Takes Valentino Merlo & The La Planta to Seventh Week at No. 1 on Billboard Argentina Hot 100

It’s been a fruitful partnership between Valentino Merlo and The La Planta as “Hoy” adds a seventh consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart (dated Aug. 17). With a seventh week at the summit, becomes the song with the second-most week at the lead in 2024, trailing only “Una Foto (Remix)” by Mesita, Nicki Nicole, Tiago PZK and Emilia, which dominated for 10 non consecutive weeks (between Jan.-April).

Los Ángeles Azules and Emilia’s “Perdonarte Para Qué?” holds at No. 2 for a seventh consecutive week, after it ruled for four weeks, starting the June 15-dated list.

Luck Ra and Chayanne’s “Un Siglo Sin Ti” pushes 4-3 for Chayanne’s highest ranking song to date. The Puerto RIcan scored a No. 60 high through “Bailando Bachata” in Nov. 2023.

The weekly Hot Shot Debut goes to pop band Tan Bionica’s “Loca,” which debuts at No. 48, for the Argentinian pop band’s fifth entry.



Meanwhile, NSYNC makes its first chart appearance through the ubiquitous “Bye Bye Bye” at No.54. The 2000 smash, which peaked at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 (April 2000) and re-enters at No. 45 on this week’s tally, resurges fueled by its synch in the box office blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine film which premiered July 26.

Chilean Floyymenor takes home the weekly Greatest Gainer trophy through “Peligrosa,” which climbs 28 spots, from No. 69 to No. 41 for its new peak.

Another surprise on the Argentina Hot 100 chart this week: Spanish pop group La Oreja de Van Gogh makes its maiden visit with “Rosas” at No.68. The song’s traces its recent popularity to Karol G’s performance of the hit with lead singer Amaia Montero, during her second Madrid concert in July 21.

Lastly, English singer-songwriter Charli XCX scores her first chart entry through her Billie Eilish collab “Guess” which opens at No. 100.
