Yasiin Bey hopped on Instagram Live a few days back and kicked a freestyle over Metro Boomin’s “Like That” beat. The socially conscience rapper did his variations of what he called the “Petty Big 3” rapping, “Greedy, seedy, and creepy/ Corny, horny and boring/Bougie, goofy and moody/Foolish, ruthless and clueless/Variations on a petty Big 3/ A whole lot to look at, but not much to see” as he gave his commentary on those at the top of the game.
The beat is an interesting choice considering that the Mighty Mos found himself in some controversy when he compared Drake’s music to “shopping with an edge” after being asked if he considers the Canadian rapper to be hip-hop.

Drake then responded with an old clip of Method Man explaining what hip-hop is:
However, Mos walked those comments back a bit on Instagram shortly after and stated that he reached out to Drake, but has yet to get a response. He also challenged his fellow artists to give the fans more substance, saying, “What I would like to see, in terms of creators or creative people in the world as it relates to our culture, is for people to connect with us beyond the jukebox or the dance floor.”
Bey seems to be doing this with this freestyle and has a history of politically charged music over the course of his career.
Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar currently sits at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has been on the chart for eight weeks straight.
As Yasiin said in his freestyle: “Yuck 🤮!”
