Safaree Reminisces About Doing the Robot in Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’ Video

What if we told you one of the greatest clips on the Internet involved Safaree doing the robot? We’ll get to that in a few, but first lets talk about what Safaree recently posted on X. Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend and former collaborator took to the social network and questioned what he was doing in Nicki’s “Super Bass” video.
“Yo wat the hell was I doing in that super bass video,” he wrote. “yo I am really a crazy a&& ni%%%a I don’t give a sh*% bout nothing.”
He’s referring, of course, to the dance he randomly did at the end of the video for Nicki’s hit single. Safaree makes his legendary cameo in the Sanaa Hamri-directed clip around the three-minute mark. He appears on a platform next to his former girlfriend and starts poppin’ and lockin’ like a madman as they both glow in the dark.

And as long as we’re in the spirit of looking back, let’s take a detour down memory lane and go back to 2010. That was when Safaree broke out the robot during a live performance on the Late Show with David Letterman alongside Nicki and will.i.am.
You’ll see him in the back standing still as a statue waiting for the right moment to slide across that stage and show them who is who and what is what. Around the two-and-a-half minute mark, Safaree brings the robot to life and pulls up just in time for Nicki’s verse. This is truly an incredible piece of content and reminds us that the 2010s were simpler times.
Thankfully, one X user did the hard work and made a clip of his cameo for everyone to enjoy whenever they see fit.
Safaree is underrated when it comes to his imprint on the Internet. He has blessed us with some great stuff over the years. Who else remembers the classic clip of him sporting Gatorade gear from head-to-toe?
And here’s another clip of him doing the robot. This time someone has to turn him on.
And then there was the time he showed Nicki some new dance moves he thought about on a plane.
Safaree Samuels content is the gift that keeps on giving.
