Kesha Says She’s Permanently Changing Diddy Lyric in ‘Tik Tok’: ‘I Know What I Stand For’

Kesha is never going back after changing a key lyric in “TikTok” at Coachella.
After altering the song during Reneé Rapp’s festival set in April to include the line “f— P. Diddy” — in light of accusations of sexual misconduct against the rapper and mogul — Kesha revealed Thursday that she’s only planning to sing the updated version of her 2009 smash going forward.
When asked by TMZ at the Los Angeles International Airport whether she would be permanently implementing the “F— P. Diddy” lyric — as opposed to the track’s original phrase, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” — Kesha immediately said yes.
“Yes, it will be [permanent],” she replied. “The fans should learn it for my upcoming [shows]. I want to hear it louder than ever. I stand by that.
“I’m not the kind of person that shuts the f— up,” the California native continued. “I know what I stand for, I know my integrity is rock-solid, so I speak the truth. The industry can kinda, like, suck my di–.”

When Kesha joined Rapp on the Coachella stage for a surprise duet of “Tik Tok” last month, it had been just a couple of weeks since Diddy’s L.A. and Miami homes were raided by FBI agents in connection with an ongoing federal sex trafficking investigation, as reported at the time by CNN. The Bad Boy Records founder also faces abuse allegations and a litany of sexual-misconduct-related lawsuits.
During their performance, both Kesha and Rapp held up middle fingers while belting out the “F— P. Diddy” line. Shortly afterward, Kesha doubled down by tweeting, “WAKE UP IN THE MORNING LIKE F— P DIDDY” in all caps.
The musician is currently gearing up to headline WeHo Pride in Los Angeles, which will also feature Adam Lambert, Monét X Change, Laganja Estranja, Morphine Love Dion, Niña Dioz, Jessica Betts, Owenn and Venessa Michaels on the lineup. Her latest album, 2023’s Gag Order, which peaked at No. 14 on the Top Alternative Albums chart.
