Reba McEntire Clarifies That She Definitely Didn’t Diss Taylor Swift: ‘Don’t Believe Everything You See’

Reba McEntire is reminding fans that just because they read something on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true. In particular, the country icon and The Voice coach hit back over the weekend at what she said was fake news about her reportedly dissing Taylor Swift after allegedly being miffed at the singer’s behavior at February’s Super Bowl.
“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” McEntire wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot of the fake story that claimed McEntire called Swift an “entitled little brat” after Taylor was pictured having a swig of her drink while McEntire sang The National Anthem.
“I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” McEntire, 68, continued. McEntire sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” at this year’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, with Swift on hand to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

McEntire has proven before that she’s definitely on Team Swift, including in an interview with NBC in December while promoting The Voice, saying, “The very first time I ever heard Taylor sing live was on the CMA Awards. She was singing ‘Tim McGraw,’ playing a guitar. Tim and Faith were in the front row. She walked down the steps looking right at Tim McGraw singing and I’m like, ‘This girl’s gonna be a huge star’… I mean I was impressed!”
Swift recently wrapped a run of shows in Singapore and is on a break until the stadium tour picks up again in Nanterre, France with a four-show run at the Paris La Défense Arena from May 9-12.
