Olivia Rodrigo welcomed a special guest to the Guts World Tour in Nashville on Saturday (March 9). Sheryl Crow joined her for a duet of her mid-’90s hit “If It Makes You Happy.”
“I think she’s one of the most talented, most wonderful, kindest human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I’ve been lucky enough to sing with her a few times and even lucky to call her a friend,” Rodrigo said to the crowd before bringing Crow to the Bridgestone Arena stage Saturday night.
The pair previously sang “If It Makes You Happy” together at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe in September, and again at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in November. Crow also presented Rodrigo with the Woman of the Year honor at Billboard‘s 2022 Women in Music event.

Crow, 62, has said she’s imparted some advice to Rodrigo, 21. “I said, you know, ‘If you can, just write down one sentence every day, of what happened during that day, because you will someday look back [at] this, and try to remember all the things,’” she said in an interview with ET this past November. She continued, “The other thing [I told her] is to just stay in the work and stay out of the chatter. That’s a major thing.”
“If It Makes You Happy” was originally released in 1996, and it reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1997. The single was included on her sophomore, self-titled album, also released in 1996.
Rodrigo’s tour heads to St. Louis next, where the Guts singer-songwriter will play at the Enterprise Center on March 12.
