Ariana Grande Uses ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Track Titles to Converse in New ‘SNL’ Promo

Ariana Grande is introducing her upcoming album Eternal Sunshine with her performance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend, and the star had some punny responses to the episode’s host Josh Brolin in a new promo posted on Thursday (March 7).
“This is going to be such a fun show,” SNL star Chloe Fineman shared in the clip, with Brolin agreeing, “I know, music, sketches…”
“Yes, and?,” Grande interjects, in reference to her lead Eternal Sunshine single. “Weekend updates and videos,” Fineman offers, before the pop star once again says, “Yes, and?”
Grande then begins responding to Brolin and Fineman with thoughts like “We can’t be friends” and “Imperfect for you,” which Fineman realized are track titles off of her album. “Kind of genius marketing strategy,” Brolin says, before Grande concludes with “Bye,” and walks off.
Grande’s album arrives on Friday (March 8). She kicked off her Eternal Sunshine era at the top of 2024 with the release of “Yes, And?” The Max Martin-helmed house bop debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 — Grande’s sixth song to do so — and later received a remix featuring fellow chart-conquering diva Mariah Carey. Inspired by the Oscar-winning Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Grande’s new record features contributions from Martin, Ilya, Oscar Görres and Nonna, Ariana’s grandmother.
Watch the promo below, and catch Grande on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (March 9) at 11:30 ET on NBC, before the episode begins streaming on Peacock.
