TikTok and YouTube tutorials are helpful in learning how to do your own makeup, but for beauty lovers who want to dive a bit deeper into makeup application, there are plenty of online courses that are available at an affordable price.

Whether you’re learning how to apply your own makeup, or want to become a professional makeup artist, online classes are a great resource. Udemy, for example, is currently offering a variety of discounted courses including makeup classes, fitness courses, music lessons, web development, photography classes and more starting at just $9.99. The limited deal ends on Jan. 11.

Not sure where to start? Makeup for Beginners: Learn to Do Makeup Like a Pro, which is 88% off during Udemy’s sale, teaches all the basics that you’ll need such as contouring, highlighting, eyeliner and eye makeup techniques “from natural to more dramatic looks,” eyebrows shaping, choosing the right makeup tools and more.

Another option for beauty novices, Self Makeup From Basic to Advanced, is a highly rated course that’s also on sale for $9.99 (reg. $44.99). The course includes two-hour, on-demand videos and lectures on topics such as skin prepping, concealer and foundation application, contouring techniques, eyebrow filing, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush and lipstick application.

Per the description, “This is the course for anyone looking for self makeup or to do makeup for others. From prepping to setting the makeup for different occasions” such as parties and weddings but also looks for going to work or school.

For the more advanced beauty fans, Makeup Artistry Basic to Masterclass, is a 6.5 hour course that covers everything from makeup application to client consultations.

According to the description, the course teaches you how to “apply day to evening make up on yourself and later on your clients.” If you’re looking to become a makeup artist, the class will help you learn to create soft, dramatic and glamorous looks, bridal looks and more.  

Some of the techniques include how to prepare and prime different skin types, how to enhance different eye shapes, how to use the color theory correctly and how to sculpt and highlight various face shapes. Plus, contouring, foundation matching, blush, concealer and foundation application, how to apply eyelashes, how to find the right makeup brushes and how to clean them. There’s also a section on how to prepare for a makeup appointments and consulting with clients. The course is taught by a certified makeup artists, licensed cosmetologist and YouTuber.
